The Impact So Far...
A look at the projects, collaborations, and initiatives I've been part of to create meaningful change in perinatal mental health - see the passion come to life!
The MHS Conference - Speaker (2025)
I had the privilege of piloting an integrated clinical pathway at Peach Tree Perinatal Wellness - a pioneering, peer-led organisation supporting parents through perinatal distress. This work, which I presented at the Mental Health Services (TheMHS) Conference, explored how clinical and lived experience can complement each other to provide safer, more authentic care. It’s a testament to what’s possible when we reimagine traditional models of support.

Piloted Clinical Pathway with Peach Tree Perinatal Wellness (2024)
I co-designed and piloted a clinical pathway while on my university placement within Peach Tree Perinatal Wellness - a 100% peer-led perinatal mental health organisation. This placement model explored how clinical and lived experience can meaningfully co-exist, resulting in a therapeutic approach that prioritised safety, connection, and collaborative care. As the first embedded clinical model of its kind within a peer-led perinatal organisation in Australia, this pilot marked a pioneering step toward a more relational, human-centred future in perinatal mental health care.
Peer-Reviewed Publication in Midwifery (2025)
I co-authored a research paper published in Midwifery, exploring the perceptions of birth and wellbeing among mothers who described their birth as traumatic. This study challenged narrow definitions of trauma, examined gaps in standard birth debriefing practices, and highlighted the need for more inclusive, reflective, and trauma-informed approaches to postnatal care. It’s a contribution that not only informs my practice but adds to the growing global conversation on birth trauma and maternal mental health.

7 News Young Achiever Awards - Top 3 Finalist 2022
In 2022, I was honoured to be recognised as a Top 3 Finalist in the 7NEWS Young Achiever Awards (QLD) in the Women Supporting Others category, proudly sponsored by the Soroptimist International group. This award acknowledged my work in advocating for perinatal mental health, creating compassionate spaces for women navigating motherhood, and amplifying the voices of those who are suffering in silence.
Speaker – Women’s Community Conference (2022)
I was invited to speak at a community women’s conference on the transition to motherhood, where I presented on matrescence, the evolving identity of modern mothers, and the emotional and systemic challenges they face. My presentation focused on how connection, validation, and collective care can support women not just to survive but to thrive in the complex realities of motherhood today.

Guest Speaker – Soroptimist International (2022)
In 2022, I was invited to speak to the Soroptimist International group on women’s health, where I explored common myths, systemic biases, and psychosocial gaps in healthcare through a trauma-informed and advocacy-based lens. The talk aimed to raise awareness of how gendered assumptions continue to impact diagnosis, treatment, and overall wellbeing, and highlighted the importance of listening to women’s lived experiences in shaping better care.
